With the way things had been going for everyone over the last few weeks, Kitty and Allie had decided it might be good to have a small, semi-quiet apartment party with friends where nothing traumatic happened and they could have fun.

Aaand then Kitty got in from California too late yesterday to get much of anything done so a lot of today was spent cleaning, shopping, and finding some game off the Internet, because with the group they'd invited, it might be good to have something to focus on rather than just glaring at people across the room. Which they'd probably do anyway, but at least it wouldn't be their whole night.

By the time people were due to start showing up, everything had been set up, the place looked presentable, and the pizza had gotten here in time for Kitty to box up a couple pieces for Lucky already, because shut up, that's why.

There's pizza, moddable snacks and drinks, and yes, there's even True Blood. Or you could just glare at people, okay.

"Okay," Kitty said, "I guess one person reads the black card, and then everyone gives them a white card, and they pick which one is the funniest and that person gets the point. Sounds easy enough. Someone want to go first?"

Blood donation got postponed due to plague, so I'm around all day!

Kaidan... wasn't much of a glarer; he was more of a be-awkward-at-parties kind of guy. That didn't mean he wasn't going to show up, though, wearing a grey Alliance t-shirt instead of his uniform for once.

He awkwarded by himself for a couple of moments before heading towards the pizza.

WHAT HAVE I TOLD YOU ABOUT GETTING SICK. :(

"Hey," Kitty greeted him with a smile. "I don't think I've met you yet." Which was something that should be remedied when he was in her apartment.

I HELD OUT AS LONG AS I COULD.

"Allie invited me," Kaidan offered. Then added, a beat later: "Lieutenant Commander Kaidan Alenko. I teach up at the school."

Oh, right. Offering a handshake, too.

"Kitty Pryde," she said, shaking his hand. "Bartender in town. Your intro's way better. Lieutenant Commander, huh?"

"Technically I'm here on outreach for the Systems Alliance," Kaidan explained. "You know - making nice with the unexplored territory." His mouth quirked wryly.

"We're unexplored territory?" she asked.

So Allie had had an interesting morning. She didn't think it would be wise to leave Eponine alone while she was obviously still weak, so she'd brought her along to the party.

Since Eponine had tucked herself into a corner to people watch and seemed okay for the moment, Allie was going to enjoy herself for the evening.

Surprisingly for her, she didn't find a corner to lurk in and instead took a seat on the couch.

"Maryland isn't," Kaidan said. "The multiverse... that's a new one, y'know?"

Somehow Allie wound up being the first person to ask a question.

"You realize I have no idea what I'm talking about. But here goes," she said, looking at her card. "The socialist governments of Scandanavia have declared that access to BLANK is a basic human right."

Eric had a sardonic smile on his face as he stood in the doorway of the apartment.

Stupid vampire rules...

Stiles' dad would have been Very Concerned about his son hanging out with all these adults but Stiles didn't much care. He had hung out with people his own age yesterday; he even got a (pity) date for Valentine's week. A date that wasn't with Derek!

Even though he'd probably have one of those too. Ugh.

He could totally maintain a balance between adult friends and teenage friends. Besides, there was free pizza here, like he'd turn that down.

"Yeah, I know," said she who'd had to learn about it super fast. "And this is definitely the best place to check all that out. Since, you know, everyone from everywhere is here..."

Eric peered through his cards, smirked, and tossed down "an erection that lasts longer than four hours."

"So who's your friend?" Kitty asked, because she hadn't seen the new girl anywhere ever yet and thought she should ask before saying hi.

"Planning on hanging out right there all night?" Kitty asked.

Not knowing vampire rules and all.

It was a good thing Allie hadn't taken a drink from the bottle of True Blood she had in her hand. That would have been messy. "Aren't you supposed to see a doctor if that happens?"

Even pop culturally unaware vampires have seen Viagra commercials.

"Of course half the stuff I send back home gets redacted," Kaidan mused, then shook his head. "Anyway, that's me. Not all that interesting. How long've you been bartending here?"
