MHA #10- Saturday evening

With the way things had been going for everyone over the last few weeks, Kitty and Allie had decided it might be good to have a small, semi-quiet apartment party with friends where nothing traumatic happened and they could have fun.

Aaand then Kitty got in from California too late yesterday to get much of anything done so a lot of today was spent cleaning, shopping, and finding some game off the Internet, because with the group they'd invited, it might be good to have something to focus on rather than just glaring at people across the room. Which they'd probably do anyway, but at least it wouldn't be their whole night.

By the time people were due to start showing up, everything had been set up, the place looked presentable, and the pizza had gotten here in time for Kitty to box up a couple pieces for Lucky already, because shut up, that's why.

Clint didn't feel comfortable just bringing himself to the party, so he'd shown up with another six pack of beer as well as some sodas because hey, he wasn't about to promote underage drinking. Not that he was going to be a good person once this card game thing started, but still.

"Boyfriend!" Kitty greeted him happily, because that's what you got when she'd been gone since Tuesday.

Clint went over and pulled Kitty into a kiss because that was what she got for being gone since Tuesday. "Well, you're a good sight."

Don't mind her just kissing him back because he started it, then. "I'm gonna take that to mean you missed me."

"I missed you a lot," Clint said quietly, because no one needed to hear him being mushy but Kitty, thank you very much. "I'm really glad you're okay. You're really okay, right?"

"I'm really okay," Kitty assured him. Even her bruises were starting to go away. "Slightly more pierced than before, but that was on purpose."

"Pierced? I don't remember hearing about piercing," Clint said, looking her over.

"That's because I did it after I talked to you," she said, lifting up her shirt just enough to show him the ring through her bellybutton. ~~Because easy fix!~~

"Ooh, the hot kind of piercing, I see," Clint said, relaxing and smirking at her. "Did it hurt much?"

"Only for a little while. I was more worried about trying not to phase through the chair in reflex," Kitty admitted. "You seem a little focused on me not getting hurt." Which was cute.

"Well, you have to agree, you weren't exactly in good shape after the last time you went home," Clint pointed out. "I didn't want you to come back in the same state."

"I know. But what happened last time isn't exactly the norm for me," she assured him, slipping her arms around him. "The worst I had to do was kick a guy in the face a bunch, any scrapes and bruises don't even hurt anymore, and I got my friend back. See, totally different."

"I would think kicking a guy in the face would be like the highlight of that," Clint said, shifting closer to her. "Well, that and getting your friend back. I didn't know good surprises were a possibility."

Wow, so literally every single one of Stiles' teachers was here. "Hi, Mr. Barton!"

"Stiles? What are you doing here?" Was that rude? "I mean, uh, hey."

"Kitty invited me." Oh yes, blame your girlfriend for this.

"Oh. Well, that was nice of her. You're sure this is how you want to spend your evening?" He'd been a teenager once, after all.

"I didn't have any other plans." Because he was a human plague most of the time. "And the majority of my friends on the island are here."

Clint thought about offering to make Kate Bishop be friends with him, but that wouldn't exactly help, would it? "Well, I guess I can't fault you for that second part, because these are mostly good people. Have you been staying out of trouble?"

Stiles was already ahead of you there, Clint, considering he had a date with Kate on Tuesday. A pity date, but a date nonetheless.

"Um...I haven't been arrested lately?" That was always good. "Asking me to stay out of trouble completely is wishful thinking at best."

Clint snickered at that. "I've been told I shouldn't tell people to stay out of trouble because I can't do that myself most of the time," he said. "But not getting arrested suggests not getting caught, so good job."

"Thanks! I attribute that to the fact that I'm here instead of home," Stiles said. "My dad's the sheriff at home so he knows all my tricks and lies to get out of trouble."

Well, all of them except the ones he uses to hide the werewolf thing.

"I have a feeling the sheriffs around here don't worry so much about what students are doing," Clint agreed. "Why am I not surprised that a sheriff's son can't stay out of trouble? That's like a preacher's son getting up to things too."

"It's a gift we have. We know too much about the system and therefore we know easy ways to manipulate it," he said with a shrug. "At least Kitty says she has bail money ready for me."

"Aww, she's so sweet, isn't she?" Clint laughed. "I might be able to provide an alibi if the bail money doesn't work. I can be good on my feet."

Best role model ever here, clearly.
