With the way things had been going for everyone over the last few weeks, Kitty and Allie had decided it might be good to have a small, semi-quiet apartment party with friends where nothing traumatic happened and they could have fun.

Aaand then Kitty got in from California too late yesterday to get much of anything done so a lot of today was spent cleaning, shopping, and finding some game off the Internet, because with the group they'd invited, it might be good to have something to focus on rather than just glaring at people across the room. Which they'd probably do anyway, but at least it wouldn't be their whole night.

By the time people were due to start showing up, everything had been set up, the place looked presentable, and the pizza had gotten here in time for Kitty to box up a couple pieces for Lucky already, because shut up, that's why.

"You invited me." Ergo, he came.

"That answer just means I'm going to invite you to more stuff, you know," she pointed out.

"You invited me and I wasn't busy," he amended. There. Now he could duck out on stupid parties.

"That doesn't help when I'm pretty sure you actively avoid a social life," Kitty pointed out.

Derek just shrugged at that. Because it was so, so true. He would rather be at home with a book. Or brooding about the fact that he blamed himself for all deaths ever.

All of them.

"Well, I'm glad you came to this. Even if it turns out Mike or Stiles had to drag you," she told him.

"I'm not going to have fun," he warned her dryly. It was possibly a joke. A very, very subtle joke.

"Heaven forbid," she said, mock seriously. "We'll even try to make it more difficult for fun, how's that?"

"I could handle that." SEE, YOU GOT HIM.

"Good. So you won't be surprised when I break out the Pin the Tail on the Donkey."

There would be none of that, no.

"If Eric is playing too..."

"I bet I could get him too," she said thoughtfully.

No, she probably couldn't, because him suggesting sexual favors would probably get him slapped, or something.

Derek looked from her to Eric, just daring her to try. Because he was an evil man.

"When the time's right," she said vaguely.

"I'll wait until then."
