Kitty could tell you how many days old Lexi was (fifteen) but unless she was looking at her phone, she was sort of lost on the day of the week. Or usually what time of day it was, since going to sleep and staying asleep all night was probably not a thing that was happening ever again. She changed what loungewear she was wearing every day? Was that a good marker of time?

And yet she still had stuff to do. Work work in addition to other stuff that had to get done around the house and all the baby stuff. She wasn't back to bartending yet, but she was still doing the paperwork side of business running, and so she had her laptop open while Lexi laid on the couch next to her, though the baby kept taking most of her attention. "I thought you were supposed to be helping me work," Kitty told her. "Pick up the slack, kid."

Was manhandled back there by a Tino who was ill-equipped to deal with Rosa and Seivarden... Rosa and Seivardening. Kinda nice on that side of the bar, though. I'd ask for a job if I thought I could commit to another one here.

He was getting in too deep with things back home already, and they'd barely even begun to rebel.

How are things on your end? Settling in to life with a youngling?

Mostly. Feels like I get used to her schedule and then she changes it just enough to throw me off.

Kanan took a moment to reply to that, because he needed to go, "Awwwwwww."

Still a cute kid! She'll even out eventually, right? That's how babies work?

There hadn't really been 'junior high' at the Temple.

Around 11-13. Oh, probably just in time for her mutant powers to kick in! Why did I think this was a good idea again?

Kanan was just pulling the faintest bit of a grin at that. Oh, Kitty.

Because it's Lexi. And because you're not doing this alone. Anyway, it could be way worse. She could be making things fly around the room as a toddler or something, right?

Not that he would know anything about that, honest. Truly. He was just a guy with uncanny balance who was very good at coaxing cows out of lounges for some reason.

Kanan huffed out a soft chuckle at that.

Some places, yeah. Pretty uncommon, at least, and I doubt that's something you'll have to worry about.

Kanan would feel bad about it if he wasn't busy being quietly amused. Because he was a terrible man.

Fair enough! The floating stuff is a my galaxy thing, anyway. Some of that Jedi nonsense that I'll try not to scare you with again in the future.

He paused a moment, and then sent a follow-up message.

I don't mind tending bar as long as you need, but if there's anything you want delivered to you or anything while you're both totally exhausted, you know you can tap me in, right? Even if you realize at one in the morning you're out of... what do you run out of at one in the morning?

She turned to Lexi and said, "You don't get to hook up with boys in bars until Mommy and Daddy are too old to care."

Mildly less concerning times. I'm surprised they haven't managed to burn down half the island yet.

He would take some exception to their relationship, whatever it was, if they did, mind.

That would be worrying for so many reasons...

Given the population of this island, I think I would honestly mostly just be impressed if they were to get that far.

Two humans that were skilled but, ostensibly, baseline, versus mutants, Jedi, vampires... who all considered the place home.
