Kitty could tell you how many days old Lexi was (fifteen) but unless she was looking at her phone, she was sort of lost on the day of the week. Or usually what time of day it was, since going to sleep and staying asleep all night was probably not a thing that was happening ever again. She changed what loungewear she was wearing every day? Was that a good marker of time?

And yet she still had stuff to do. Work work in addition to other stuff that had to get done around the house and all the baby stuff. She wasn't back to bartending yet, but she was still doing the paperwork side of business running, and so she had her laptop open while Lexi laid on the couch next to her, though the baby kept taking most of her attention. "I thought you were supposed to be helping me work," Kitty told her. "Pick up the slack, kid."

Hello, Kitty! Kanan had missed you at the bar last night, and truth be told he was wondering how the baby was doing, and how you were doing now that the baby had entered the big wide world and all.

Which he was going to summarize all in one message containing a photo, just of his hand, holding a glass of juice, taken from the business side of the bar last night.

Just not the same.

He was a sentimental space dad who was bad at actually expressing that fact.

Was manhandled back there by a Tino who was ill-equipped to deal with Rosa and Seivarden... Rosa and Seivardening. Kinda nice on that side of the bar, though. I'd ask for a job if I thought I could commit to another one here.

He was getting in too deep with things back home already, and they'd barely even begun to rebel.

How are things on your end? Settling in to life with a youngling?

Mostly. Feels like I get used to her schedule and then she changes it just enough to throw me off.

Still a cute kid! She'll even out eventually, right? That's how babies work?

He didn't know these things. Help.

There hadn't really been 'junior high' at the Temple.

Around 11-13. Oh, probably just in time for her mutant powers to kick in! Why did I think this was a good idea again?

Kanan was just pulling the faintest bit of a grin at that. Oh, Kitty.

Because it's Lexi. And because you're not doing this alone. Anyway, it could be way worse. She could be making things fly around the room as a toddler or something, right?

Not that he would know anything about that, honest. Truly. He was just a guy with uncanny balance who was very good at coaxing cows out of lounges for some reason.

Kanan huffed out a soft chuckle at that.

Some places, yeah. Pretty uncommon, at least, and I doubt that's something you'll have to worry about.

There was a thud at the door from where a forehead might be used to be knocking instead of, say, overfull hands.

"Don't learn to roll over yet," Kitty told Lexi, getting up to get the door... and double checking that she was still there before actually opening it. "Hello there."

Ooh, that's right, she didn't have powers yet at eight. SCORE.

It was the little things.

Kanan would feel bad about it if he wasn't busy being quietly amused. Because he was a terrible man.

I wake up every two hours even when Clint gets up with her. I'm very slow.

"Hi, I brought food," the pile of food with Steve's shoes on said, "that Tony and I had absolutely no part in making. There's baked pasta and muffins and other stuff that's quick to reheat."

"You are my very favorite Captain America," Kitty said gratefully, reaching to take at least some of it from him. "Thank you, you didn't have to do this."

Fair enough! The floating stuff is a my galaxy thing, anyway. Some of that Jedi nonsense that I'll try not to scare you with again in the future.

He paused a moment, and then sent a follow-up message.

I don't mind tending bar as long as you need, but if there's anything you want delivered to you or anything while you're both totally exhausted, you know you can tap me in, right? Even if you realize at one in the morning you're out of... what do you run out of at one in the morning?

I can't remember anymore if that comes in bottle form or in bags of grounds, but I'll do what I can.
