Avengers Tower-Clint's New York- Saturday night

Once the wedding was done, everyone moved inside for the reception. There were plenty of lights strung up, and despite all the worries over where to seat people, there was enough room for everyone and probably no fights would break out during the reception at least. Everyone cross your fingers.

It was time for a party!

Clint would stop smiling sometime before summer, probably. It would depend on how many people had weird doppelganger situations before the night was over.

"Congratulations," Coulson said, sidling up when nobody was looking. He was still wearing his false beard and light suit. With no tie.

He would be unrecognizable to just about anyone looking like this.

Clint snickered softly, then managed a straight face. "Uh, thank you. Have you been enjoying yourself?"

"I don't get out to many weddings these days, so this has been a nice change of pace," Coulson said. "The open bar helps."

"Make sure you have some pizza too. We got a lot of good toppings, and no one should enjoy an open bar on an empty stomach," Clint said. "Plus, I'm not likely to convince anyone to marry me again, so it's important you enjoy yourself."

"That's the spy's curse," Coulson said. "There aren't too many of us who actually find our way into this situation without it being a cover."

"This isn't a really deep cover, right?"

"It's really not. She really agreed to marry me, and she's really not possessed, and she really loves me," Clint said. "It's terrifying, but true."

"I believe it," Coulson said. "If I can say, you both did a good job finding each other."

"You can say, sir. And thank you. I know it, uh, wasn't easy for you to be here today," Clint said. "I really appreciate it."

"You've always been one of my favorite operatives. I wouldn't have missed it," Coulson said. "I'm not looking forward to getting the disguise off, though. My techs have been working with a new adhesive for hair-based disguises that has had some issues during removal."

"Congratulations, sir," Eliot said, offering his hand. He and Clint hadn't ever really talked, but Eliot wasn't exactly shy. "You've got yourself a hell of a wife."

"Oh, I'm well aware. I still find it hard to believe she said yes," Clint said, laughing and shaking his hand. "Thank you for coming. I kept voting for eloping, but it's a lot nicer to do this with other people around."

"I guess I can see that." Not really. Very little of Eliot's life had happened with witnesses. "And hey, it's always nice to have an excuse to throw a big fancy party."

"Yeah, I'm not one for fancy parties, but they make the ladies happy," Clint teased. "It helps that I have no intention of ever having to do this again, 'til death do us part in the very far away future."

"More power to you, sir," Eliot said. "Your lips to -- well, I guess Fandom's ears."

Clint grinned. "If it wasn't for Fandom weirdness, I probably wouldn't have even talked to her. I thought being sent there was going to be the worst, but it turned out the exact opposite."

"Yeah? How'd you two meet, then?"

"Well, I met her at Caritas initially and got myself thrown into the lake because I didn't believe her story about the spell on the place," Clint said, sighing. "And then a crazy lady attacked the island and mind controlled some folks, including me, and Kitty helped stop me from doing anything stupid. After that, I figured she wouldn't want to talk to me, but we ended up talking more and..." He trailed off, glancing around. "The rest is history."

"So does this make you the respectable Avenger now?" Steve teased ~~once the mun's flipping internet returned~~.

"Oh man, I hope not. I'm happy with you being the respectable one," Clint said, laughing. "Kitty's the responsible one too, it works better that way."

"She's a powerhouse, for sure," Steve said with a grin. "I like that about her."

"Yeah, falling for her was kind of inevitable," Clint said. "I could have resisted but she would have found a way."

Steve smiled. "I knew a girl like that. Good job marrying yours."

"We can find you another girl like that. I thought I'd never find one, and then I got sent here," Clint said. "If there's hope for me, there's hope for someone like you."

Steve gave him a sad little smile that didn't reach his eyes. "I sure hope so."
