A store on the mainland- Saturday

Kitty really did like shopping with Derek. He had good taste, she liked hanging out with him, and she could usually find something to tease him about, so it was a good time. She wasn't so happy about the reason for this shopping excursion, though, since the reason was that if you kept wearing kinda slutty things to work just because you could, eventually someone was going to say something.

Which was still a little weird to her, because she'd worn questionable things through her teen years and no one did ever say anything. Because the X-Men were terrible at setting boundaries, that's why.

Even as they walked into the store, Kitty said, "The top wasn't even that bad, you know. You didn't even see it."

Kitty grinned. "Can you say that again where I can get it on video?"

"Say what?" He was going to pretend it never happened, okay?

[throughaphase]

"And that's why I wanted video," she said. "Okay, fine. What would you put me in, then?"

"Nothing you'd see on The Jersey Shore."

[throughaphase]

"Okay, you would not see the stuff I wear on Jersey Shore," Kitty protested. "I don't have J-Woww's boobs and I have standards."

Barely.

Derek just gave her another look for that. "We're not discussing your chest right now."

Or ever.

[throughaphase]

"We're discussing J-Woww's, calm down," Kitty told him.

[justlurkinghere]

"Close enough," he shot back, tossing a simple black tank top at her. It covered everything important!

[throughaphase]

Kitty held up the tank top, looking at him over it. "I have black tank tops already."

[justlurkinghere]

"Then what don't you have?"

[throughaphase]

"Appropriate clothes, apparently." Ooh, getting sassy. "What goes well with leather pants, then? Start from there."

She wasn't getting rid of those, trying to be respectable-looking at work or no.

"A lot of things," Derek shot back. "What colors?"

[throughaphase]

"I usually go with black, but I'm flexible," she said.

[justlurkinghere]

At that, he picked up a purple shirt to toss at her. And look at that! It also covered things. "You're not helpful."

[throughaphase]

"Well, I don't know what you're going for, besides 'nothing that gets me arrested,'' Kitty told him, deciding she kind of liked the shirt. "That's a really wide range of things."

"And you still manage to skirt the line."

Said the guy who wore jeans tight enough to cause traffic accidents.

[throughaphase]

"Sometimes I like skirting the line," Kitty said.

She was already planning on what to wear on Tuesday. Then she'd be classy.

[justlurkinghere]

"Uh huh." He handed over another shirt, this one had a low back. That made her feel better, right?

[throughaphase]

"Okay, this is better," she decided. "You're on the right track."

[justlurkinghere]

Derek rolled his eyes, despairing of her fashion sense. "I need jeans while we're here."

Dealing with both Jackson and Jack was killing his wardrobe.

"Are they going to be at least a size too small still?" she asked, because seriously.

[justlurkinghere]

"They fit fine." Uh huh.

[throughaphase]

"Sure, if you're not a fan of proper blood circulation."

[justlurkinghere]

"I don't have any problems." Possibly because he was a werewolf.

[throughaphase]

"How about this," Kitty said. "I won't give you attitude about using me as a Barbie doll if you get jeans that actually fit."
