MHA #10- Saturday morning

Kitty had had a great week. Getting to spend a ridiculous amount of time in bed with a hot boyfriend and not having anything to feel bad about at the end of it? She was all for that. That said, it was a relief to wake up with said hot boyfriend and feel normal again. What could she say, she liked her brain and liked having it not fogged up constantly. Also, she sort of needed a break, ow.

In the name of doing normal, non-sexy things, Kitty was starting with breakfast. She'd never really tried to cook cook to know or care if she was any good at it, but she could pour pancake mix into a pan and flip it when it was solid. She could also put up coffee and call it multitasking. And okay, part of her good mood had to do with the last few days, but that didn't mean she wasn't ruling this morning like a champ.

Well, she better have made enough pancakes to share. That's all Petra was gonna say.

But first? She had to knock on the door to get in. Because this was more time travel weirdness and when she helped the X-Men, it always ended in someone nearly being killed. This time it was hopefully ending in pancakes.

"Hi!" Petra replied, happy to a see a younger, but still familiar face. "You don't know me yet, but I'm your daughter."

A beat.

"Surprise!"

See what growing up with the X-Men does to a kid? Do you see?

Clint woke up to the smell of the coffee and yeah, it was kind of nice to only be thinking about how hungry he was, and not about more distracting things. It had been a really nice week though - a little nicer than he was comfortable thinking about in bed, so he got up, threw clothes back on, and went to see what Kitty was up to. "Good morning. You look like you've been busy."

"At least you're not a Summers," Petra pointed out, slipping past her into the apartment.

"Phoenix Force," Petra said, waggling her fingers. "Oh! Or do you mean how I got here? Because I was hoping you'd know that one."

"Hi," Petra gave Clint a small wave, totally used to Avengers at the table. Okay, normally it was just X-Men, but still.

Clint would never admit that he was a little sore in certain places, but he was a little sore in certain places, so a sweet, chaste kiss was awfully nice. "If I go along with productive, does that mean I get some pancakes?" he asked.

"It does stuff sometimes." Annoying stuff.

"Uh, hi?" Clint said, suddenly grateful he'd put on pants and a shirt this morning.

"I'm Petra." Just as an FYI. "I'm from the future," she added with a little 'what can you do' shrug.

"Petra. Petra Pryde-Hale." Yes, let that one sink in.

"I told you, the Phoenix Force."

"Oh my god, I know," Petra whined. "He's all 'werewolf this' and I'm so not interested in that, you know?"

Sometimes Lexi really wished she could phase. Like when she was standing outside a door that wasn't unlocked. Now she had to knock- like so- and wait for someone to open it for her.

There was even a little, "Hellooooo?" just so people knew there was an adorable little girl out here waiting for them.

"Um, duh. X-Men and all." Petra, stop being mean to your alternate reality, past mother.
