Kitty was still at work, still god damn pregnant, and really tired of it. And there was for some reason a cow in the bar, and it kept walking through everything (literally through) and chirping, and Tino wasn't any help because he kept running into the wall for no reason.

Anyway, she was here, annoyed and overheating, refusing to turn on the TV tonight for her own sanity, and if you caught her in a quiet moment, you might hear her looking down and threateningly murmuring, "Get out."

"That you do," Kanan confirmed, grimacing in sympathy. "Soon, though?"

Agonizingly soon, at this point?

"There's not even a point to her being in there! She's just getting bigger and making it harder to do stuff! She's gonna come out grounded."

Handling this well.

"Fortunately, her 'grounded' years will be spent eating, sleeping, probably crying now and then," Kanan mused. "Just think, it'll be that much more of a relief when you've got her in your arms, instead."

"It's hard to be sentimental when there's another person pushing on nerves I literally didn't know I had," she said.

"That is pretty rude of her," Kanan allowed, biting back a bit of a crooked smile as he reached for his drink - thank the Force his hands were back. "Once she's out, you can teach her some manners, too."

"She will be early to everything from now on." Her due date wasn't even till next week. "I swear I'll stop complaining at some point."

"You're under no obligation to stop complaining until after you've gotten the baby out of you," Kanan replied dutifully. "And then until you've gotten some rest again. Hell, you're probably entitled to your complaints right on up until she's grown up and moved out, I won't judge you."

He took a swig from his glass.

The glass didn't get any more empty as he did so.

"Did you get to actually drink that?" Kitty asked.

"If I'm being entirely honest, I'm not actually sure," Kanan admitted, squinting down into the glass. "Today is weird, Kitty. More than usual weird."

"I know. There's a cow acting like she has my powers in the lounge and I don't have the w edgy to deal with any of it."

Why was there a cow.

Kanan was quiet for a few moments before he jerked a thumb back toward the lounge.

"Want me to see if I can take care of that for you?"

"...Yes."

She was curious.

Kanan nodded, and stood, and... okay, his ankles seemed to be buried in the floor, but he made his way to the lounge to scope out the cow situation.

...

"Yeah," he said, "that's definitely a cow."

Oh boy.

He pulled in a breath, held up a hand, and closed his eyes, reaching out through the force toward it, looking to make a connection. Possibly, he was aware, against his better judgment.

It chirped at him inquisitively.

"Uh, what's supposed to happen here?" Kitty wondered.

Kanan just held up a finger with his other hand for a moment, trying to buy himself a second or two. And then, through the Force, he sent the cow... bird... thing... a suggestion, that maybe she would like to take a walk outside? Wouldn't that be nice?

Probably much nicer than distressing his favorite bartender, anyway.

The cow stared at him for a few moments more, chirped again, and then turned and made its way directly for the wall in a sort of slightly-upward-sloping direction before wandering right on through it.

... Stopping midway. But mostly out of the bar, at least?

Kanan lowered his hand and sighed, and then just kind of reached out through the Force and gave the cow a shove to get her the last few feet of the way through.

"Thank you," Kitty said gratefully. "You have no idea the full extent of how much I didn't need a cow today."

"On top of all of the rest of it," Kanan remarked as he turned to face Kitty again, his shirt staying in place mid-air as he went, "I can't possibly imagine."

Sigh, shirt. He wasn't sure if he ought to try to pluck it out of the air, or if it was planning on catching up with him in a minute.

"Now you're just bragging," she teased.

Kanan rolled his eyes but smirked a little, turning around to reach for his shirt.

His hand passed through it.

He frowned and reached again, and again, no success.

"... This isn't one of those, 'no shirt no service' establishments, is it?"

He had a shirt! It was just kind of hanging out there without him, was all.

"I've had this happen!" Kitty told him. "I mean, kind of. Not my shirt in the air or anything, but still!"

"Well, that sounds like a story," Kanan mused, giving up on his shirt and making his way back to the bar to take his seat, once again a little to the side of his stool, in mid-air.

His shirt followed behind him a good five feet.

"This how?"

"I've gotten stuck intangible before. You try to grab something and it's just not happening," she explained, eyeing his shirt. "This looks more annoying but more temporary."

Kanan glanced back at his shirt, and then experimentally moved to poke the bar.

Yeah, his hand went right through, and then again through his drink. Something had turned all his colliders off, apparently.

"Yeah, this is not a great time," he decided.

"Sorry," she said sympathetically. "But at least it's temporary!"

She would keep stressing that!

"At least it's temporary," Kanan agreed, settling back into his invisible barstool and shaking his head. "Today's been weird, but at least it hasn't been dangerous, outright."
