Caritas- Tuesday

Kitty was still at work, still god damn pregnant, and really tired of it. And there was for some reason a cow in the bar, and it kept walking through everything (literally through) and chirping, and Tino wasn't any help because he kept running into the wall for no reason.

Anyway, she was here, annoyed and overheating, refusing to turn on the TV tonight for her own sanity, and if you caught her in a quiet moment, you might hear her looking down and threateningly murmuring, "Get out."

"Well, that sounds like a story," Kanan mused, giving up on his shirt and making his way back to the bar to take his seat, once again a little to the side of his stool, in mid-air.

His shirt followed behind him a good five feet.

"This how?"

"I've gotten stuck intangible before. You try to grab something and it's just not happening," she explained, eyeing his shirt. "This looks more annoying but more temporary."

Kanan glanced back at his shirt, and then experimentally moved to poke the bar.

Yeah, his hand went right through, and then again through his drink. Something had turned all his colliders off, apparently.

"Yeah, this is not a great time," he decided.

"Sorry," she said sympathetically. "But at least it's temporary!"

She would keep stressing that!

"At least it's temporary," Kanan agreed, settling back into his invisible barstool and shaking his head. "Today's been weird, but at least it hasn't been dangerous, outright."

"And you're going to get to go home and tell Hera about getting a chirping cow out of my bar," she pointed out.

[uncertain_dume]

"That'll be a hell of a story," Kanan agreed, smiling crookedly. "I'm not sure if she'll be impressed, or just laugh."

"Which is better?" she asked.

[uncertain_dume]

Kanan's answering smile was maybe a little more fond than he intended.

"I'd take either," he admitted. "She has a good laugh."

Slowly, a little orange glitter flag began poking out from behind the bar top, nowhere near where Kitty's hand would be, really.

[uncertain_dume]

"If that isn't you," Kanan said, his mouth pulling into a small twitch of a smile, "I'm going to have stern words with the island."

Kitty, however, was allowed.

[throughaphase]

Kitty answered that by sticking her hand out and waving the flag at him.

Glitter flew everywhere.

Look, he was having a tough night, obviously a flag would help.

Kanan blinked at that, and then laughed, forgetting himself and moving to lean forward against the bar. And then promptly fell face-first through it.

"Mnngh," he reported, still passing through the bar, but apparently landing on a solid invisible surface somewhere a good half-foot off the floor.

This was not one of his more graceful moments, no.

"Uh," Kitty said, looking down at him. "You okay there?"

"Never better," Kanan agreed, picking himself up again, right through the bar. Carefully, he planted his butt back in the invisible barstool. "I needed that laugh."

He gestured to the glitter flag with his chin.

"I'm impressed you still have that thing."

[throughaphase]

"The green one's still there, too. You never know when I might need to tease you," Kitty explained.

[uncertain_dume]

"Always good to be prepared," Kanan chuckled, shaking his head a bit. "We wound up on an accidental vacation last week, did I mention?"

[throughaphase]

"No. Spill," she said.

[uncertain_dume]

"We went on a supply run to the Moons of Rion," he explained. "Basically... tropical resort worlds. We were expecting some trouble, so we gave ourselves a few days before our return portal, just to be sure we could make our drop without being shot at too much."

He spread his hands.

"We weren't shot at at all. Which meant we were stuck in the Rion system for a few days with nothing to do but enjoy the scenery and drink gourmet caf." He paused, and then added, "It was nice."

[throughaphase]

"Aww, you got calm time with your girl." It was deserved!

[uncertain_dume]

"I got calm time with that woman I like who isn't mine, but who I am very fond of," Kanan amended dutifully.

He might have spent a lot of it thinking about kissing her, granted.

"Your girl in the non-possessive way except for how you have flags," she amended.

[uncertain_dume]

"Except for how I have flags," Kanan agreed with a little laugh. "That works, sure."

Since he was kind of utterly smitten and not even subtle about it, and all.
