throughaphase: (what's over here?)

25 Unicorn Street- Saturday morning

Kitty hadn't given much thought to what weekend it was, so it was just another morning when she finally got up. She went downstairs, put on some coffee and fed the dogs, and then stood at the counter to try and make the coffee brew faster with the power of her mind.

Yep, just your typical Saturday so far.

[For the husband, and tiny people!]

Clint stumbled downstairs not too long after, his hair still going in about four different directions as he followed the good smell. "Coffee?" he said coherently.

Clint made a humming noise and tried to flatten his hair, since Kitty had a different definition of adorable than he did. "Why can't we just make coffee instantly? Like, you hit a button and poof, immediate coffee?"

Lexi knew from last year not to go to Mom's apartment, so she went straight to the house after coming through the portal. She rang the bell.

And rang it again.

And once more, just in case they hadn't heard her.

"I should have a coffee mutation. That'd be the best," Clint said, laughing.

Clint, now slightly caffeinated, went to open the door, and stared down at Lexi for a moment in surprise. Then the lightbulb went off.

"Right, prom was last night," he said, grinning. "Hey kiddo, how's it going?"
ahawkwardphase: (happy)

[personal profile] ahawkwardphase 2016-04-16 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good!" she said, attacking him with a hug. "Did you miss me?"

[personal profile] so_hawkward 2016-04-16 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Of course I missed you!" he said, squeezing her in return. "You missed the fun by a few weeks. Your mom and I got hitched finally."

"See, this is what married life does, you ruin all my fun before I can even have it," Clint said, snickering.

After Lexi's arrival, there was another tiny, polite knock on the door.

"You've got to knock harder or he might not hear us," Cooper said, knocking louder.
ahawkwardphase: (excited)

[personal profile] ahawkwardphase 2016-04-16 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"Really?" Lexi squealed. "When are you getting me?"

It was amazing that no one had done the 'when are you having kids?' thing yet. It was probably fitting that it came from their actual kid.

"I got it!" Lexi decided, opening the door before anyone could tell her not to. "Who're you?"
so_hawkward: ([posi] tiny smile of hope)

[personal profile] so_hawkward 2016-04-16 05:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Uh." Guilt tripped by his own kid, that was definitely Clint's life. "As soon as we can. We've been thinking about you a lot." That, at least, wasn't a lie.

[identity profile] kidsfromthefarm.livejournal.com 2016-04-16 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm Lila," she said, pushing in front of Cooper because hey, new friend! "Who are you?"
ahawkwardphase: (looking up)

[personal profile] ahawkwardphase 2016-04-16 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay, good. I'm a lot of fun," she said, satisfied with that answer. "Is there breakfast?"

"Lexi. Are you here to play?" It wasn't like other kids ever showed up here when she did, after all.

Chrissie didn't know why she knew to come here, she just did. And it was nice to be able to walk around and see things be all quiet and not run down, and it didn't even seem like she needed to hide from anyone. It was great.

Hopefully it was still great when she knocked on the door.

"Yes!" Lila said excitedly.

"No," Cooper said, sighing. "We're looking for our dad. The people at the coffee shop said this was his house."

She really knew him way too well. "Mmmm, you're the best wife I've ever had," he teased.
so_hawkward: ([posi] laughing)

[personal profile] so_hawkward 2016-04-16 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"There's coffee, which you can't have. But we've got cereal and stuff?" Clint offered. "Your mom keeps insisting on having real food in the house, like we're civilized or something."
so_hawkward: ([posi] tiny smile of hope)

[personal profile] so_hawkward 2016-04-16 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Clint was almost afraid to answer the door by this point, but here he was anyway, with a smile on his face. "Hi, can I help you?"
ahawkwardphase: (humoring you)

[personal profile] ahawkwardphase 2016-04-16 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"No, this is my dad's house," Lexi said. Someone was an only child. "But you can play here!"
