25 Unicorn Street- Sunday after the finale

Once things were settling down, Kitty got Clint away from the carnival, because she didn't want to be there anymore and was pretty sure he wanted to be there even less. So they went back to his place, where he could probably look forward to her attaching herself to him like a cuddly lamprey.

First things first, though. Once they got inside, she asked, "Are you hungry? We could order pizza, if that isn't taunting Lucky."

"I'm staying, so you can forget any of those arguments," she told him. "It makes me feel better, okay?"

"You wouldn't have to feel better if I hadn't turned into an ass again," Clint muttered. He sank back against the couch and rubbed at his head as Lucky came out of the kitchen and walked over to the couch. Kitty clearly looked in better shape, so he went to her for petting first.

Kitty would happily give Lucky so much petting, but while she was doing that, said, "You know half the town ended up in there, right? Like five people died on a Ferris wheel. None of this was your fault."

"I got stabbed in the heart. That freaking sucked," Clint said, picking his head up to look at Kitty. "No one else hurt you, right?"

"No. And you didn't hurt me," she pointed out. "You got stabbed in the heart?"

Yeeeah, maybe he should have thought before mentioning that. "Just once? And now I'm fine?" he said helpfully.

"Are you sure?" Don't mind her trying to get the front of his shirt up to see for herself that he was okay.

[so_hawkward]

Well hey, if she was going to feel him up, Clint might just stop complaining. "I'm sure, but you can keep checking like this if you want."

"If you're up for it, that is definitely on the table," Kitty told him, lightly poking his chest to make sure that didn't hurt.

[so_hawkward]

Hey, poking wasn't exactly comfortable! "I just meant getting all up under my shirt. I don't--I mean, considering I tried to kill you less than 48 hours ago..."

[throughaphase]

It was a light poke, suck it up. "People try to kill me all the time," Kitty said. "You didn't succeed."

In case you needed more proof that Kitty's life was very weird.

[so_hawkward]

"People who aren't me try to kill you. I shouldn't be on the list," Clint said. "And there was that other girl, and I almost blew Derek up, so that's something I'm going to have to apologize for." Oh, what joy.

[throughaphase]

"You didn't actually hurt anyone, it sounds like," Kitty said. "Half the town got sucked into a murder carnival where no one was themselves. Talking to Derek's gonna suck," she allowed. "But this isn't your fault, Clint. You didn't even know who I was, you weren't you."

"I should have known you. How could I forget you?" Clint asked.

Satisfied with Kitty's attention, Lucky went over to Clint and nudged his leg. Petting your dog was the best therapy ever, after all.

"You weren't you," she repeated. "I don't know what they did, but they're the ones to blame. Not yourself."

[so_hawkward]

Clint reached down to scratch Lucky behind the ears, because that meant he didn't have to look at Kitty too much. "You're really not mad at me? For getting roped into everything?"

[throughaphase]

"You got stabbed in the heart, honey. I'm not mad at you for anything," she promised.

[so_hawkward]

"Of course you're not. You're too nice for that," he said, sighing again. "I shouldn't have gone there at all. I'm sorry."

[throughaphase]

"Don't apologize. I think I'd get why you'd want to go," Kitty said. "And I went there, too. I just had warning because of what people dealt with on Friday making it onto radio. I'm not mad because you didn't do anything wrong."

[so_hawkward]

"You know you can keep saying that but I'm not necessarily going to believe you, right?" Clint asked. At least he was being honest about it.

[throughaphase]

"I know," she said. They'd been through this a couple times in the past for her to know that. "But know that when it comes to me, we're good. I love you, I don't blame you for anything, and there is no problem between you and me."

[so_hawkward]

"I know." Clint let out a small sigh and scooted closer, knowing that Kitty probably wanted to hug him again or something. "I still can't believe you hugged me better. That's really weird, right?"

[throughaphase]

"I want all island-wide problems to be solved with hugging," Kitty said brightly, sliding her arm around him. "All problems in general, even. I'd be the best superhero if that was the case. Or at least in the top five."

[so_hawkward]

"Thor might give you a run for your money. He's surprisingly friendly, all things considered," Clint said. He leaned against Kitty, letting her pull him closer. "I like shooting people in uncomfortable places so much more."

"And you're very good at it," she said. "Please tell me this means you've hugged Thor."

It was such a pretty visual. Just imagine it for a minute.
