Movie Sign Theater 3000- Thursday evening

It'd be pretty sad to say that Kitty thought she deserved a pat on the back for managing to wait like 48 hours for date #2 with Clint. So she wouldn't say it, but if anyone wanted to pat her on the back anyway, the line started right over here.

While there were probably wiser choices than sitting in a dark theater watching what would probably amount to an awful movie, they weren't as fun. So with plenty of time before the show started and any needed concessions gotten, the most important question was asked when they got into the actual theater: "Where should we sit?"

She was going to take a wild guess here that they weren't going anywhere near the front.

"Oh, is that it?" Kitty said. "And here I thought it was the pants that got you liking me back..."

"Oh, trust me, the pants helped," Clint said quickly, because he wanted to make it clear how much he liked them. "But I liked you even before that. The pants just made it all harder to ignore."

Kitty nodded a little, admitting, "I think I could have gotten away with saying you were just a friend for a little while longer if you hadn't kept being shirtless everywhere."

Like she hadn't gone to the gym more because of it.

Clint made a mental note to keep his shirt off at the gym a little more often. "Hey, I just didn't want to get all of my clothes wet," he said innocently. "I had no ulterior motives, I swear."

"Ulterior motives or not, it got me thinking anyway," Kitty told him. "Which I know at least I'm glad for..."

[so_hawkward]

"I'm glad too," Clint said, giving her hand another squeeze. "I have to admit, I think I started really thinking about you after all that stuff with the witch was over. I know you knew you were never in danger when you got between me and the kids, but it was still brave."

It so figured that doing the exact sort of stuff she'd tried to give up doing would be what caught a guy's attention. "I was just doing what I thought I had to," Kitty pointed out.

"Maybe, but not everyone would have done it," Clint replied. "Or even tried to help rescue everyone in the first place. You should give yourself more credit."

Was that a little snarky? It might have come out that way.

"What can I say, I don't deal well with oppression. And don't think I didn't see what you did there," she said, bumping his shoulder with hers.

[so_hawkward]

"I don't know what you're talking about, I am being entirely well-behaved," Clint insisted. "Which might be a rare occurance, as a warning."

[throughaphase]

"If you're well-behaved all the time, you're probably not having any fun," Kitty reasoned. "And this is coming from one of those responsible people." Mostly.

[so_hawkward]

"You are way too young to be boring and responsible," Clint said. "That just shouldn't be allowed."

[throughaphase]

"Hey, I didn't say anything about boring," Kitty pointed out. "I can make sure my employees get paid and occasionally do something life-threatening. It all balances it."

"Can I say that's impressive, or are you going to deny it?" Clint asked.

[throughaphase]

"Going to deny it but you can say it anyway," she replied.

[so_hawkward]

"You are very impressive," Clint said emphatically, bringing her hand up to kiss it.

[throughaphase]

"Well, okay, when you put it that way," she grinned. She'd never exactly had confidence issues, but hearing that did boost it quite a bit.

"I'm very good at reading people, so you should trust my opinion," Clint said with a nod, like he wasn't to be argued with.

Kitty raised her eyebrows, trying not to smile. "Oh? What else do you read from me?"

Clint leaned back just a little, like he was studying her, and tried to think of what he'd noticed so far. "Well, even though you're good at being badass, I don't think you want to make a career out of it," he said. "You're probably pretty organized, and maybe a little on the conservative side. And you like older guys." He figured that last one was a safe guess.

"Huh. I don't know about the conservative part," she said, figuring it counted on some points and not on others, "but that's pretty right. Though the last thing might have been a gimme."

"You didn't say I couldn't go for anything easy. Or that might count as wishful thinking," Clint said, running his thumb over her hand.

"Definitely not wishful thinking," Kitty said, trying not to get too distracted by his thumb. "I figure, if something works, go with it."

[so_hawkward]

Kitty was going to have to work hard, because Clint wasn't going to be stopping any time soon. "I'm glad you think this is working as much as I am," he said.

"I really do. And you don't mind being with a younger woman?" If she was a little worried about asking that, well, it was easy to be the younger one. She was a little worried he might suddenly rethink this whole thing and decide he'd rather not.
