Paris- Saturday

After a few bad weeks culminating in an actual sharknado, Clint and Kitty had decided they needed a few days away. The fact that those few days away were in Paris, with an amazing hotel, had Kitty feeling just a little spoiled, and she had to say, she didn't mind that at all.

They'd decided to take one of those bus tours that would drop you off at certain locations, which was proving to be a great way to see the city while comfortably leaning against her boyfriend until they wanted to get off somewhere. And speaking of... "I'm going to take a wild guess that seeing the Eiffel Tower over there means we're getting close."

"Uh huh. And you'll be rewarded for not freaking out." Visibly, at least, because she'd been too busy freaking out.

"Ooh, I like rewards," Clint said. "Although, I'll be honest, I may have freaked out a little on the inside. A little bit."

It was kind of a relief to hear that, but she was totally curious at the same time. "Why?"

"No one's ever given me anything like this before," Clint said. "And, to be honest, I haven't had many keys to places period, like, even my own places. It's a lot of trust, you know?"

"Well, I do trust you a lot," Kitty pointed out. "And I can't say I hate being a first for you."

[so_hawkward]

"You trust me this much?" Clint asked, scratching the back of his head awkwardly as they got to the top of the tower.

"To have a key to the apartment that you've been coming to regularly for a year and know your way around?" Kitty said, starting through the elevator doors. "Yeah, I do. And I like having you around, so..."

[so_hawkward]

"I like being around," Clint admitted. "Is Lucky welcome too?"

Kitty smiled at him as she tried to find a spot for the best view. "Lucky is always welcome anywhere," she promised.

Clint didn't respond right away, too caught up by the view. "Wow," he said, looking out. "This was a really good idea."

"I take it you like the view," she said teasingly, slipping an arm around him. And she was only squinting a little because she didn't want to have to put her glasses on.

"What can I say, I like heights. I feel like we can see everything from up here," Clint said, glancing at Kitty and smiling. "Or, at least I can. Are you okay?"

[throughaphase]

"Yeah, just a teensy bit blind," she said, going back into her purse again, this time for her glasses. And as soon as they were on, "Oh, wow, that's better."

"Now you look hot and smart," Clint said. "Very smart, because this isn't something you want to miss."

[throughaphase]

"The first time I was in Paris was when I figured out I needed these," Kitty admitted, trying to really take in the view now that she could. "I missed seeing everything once, twice would just be stupid."

"There's no point in missing things if you don't have to." Said the guy who'd had his hearing aids in a drawer for ages. "Like me pointing out all the perfect spots for a grappling arrow from here."

"It should not surprise me at all to hear that," she said with a laugh.

[so_hawkward]

"What? It's important to always know what your escape options are," Clint said, like that was a natural thing.

[throughaphase]

"While true, I doubt we're going to need them while we're up here," Kitty told him. "...At least, we better not."

[so_hawkward]

"I don't think we're going to need them either, but I still think about it," Clint said, turning away from the view after a few moments. "Is that weird?"

[throughaphase]

"Nah. It's a hazard of the job and/or life," Kitty told him. "I maybe started thinking whether I could airwalk all the way down when you started talking about grappling arrows, so."

[so_hawkward]

"That's safe for you, right? If only there weren't so many tourists around," Clint said, laughing.

[throughaphase]

"Totally safe," she assured him, looking straight down. "Well, as long as I don't lose my concentration and fall, but that hardly ever happens."

[so_hawkward]

"'Hardly' suggests it possibly happening, so no, that's not going to work," Clint said, slipping an arm around Kitty's waist.

"Where's your sense of adventure?" she teased.
