25 Unicorn Street- Saturday morning

Kitty had known she'd be in for it this morning when she said she and Clint deserved a night to not be adults. She'd known.

And then this morning, at 6 am, mere hours after she got to sleep, Lexi decided she was up for the day, because two-year-olds were monsters. Kitty had then had to convince her that no, this was not time to play, no we're not going to chase the dogs right now, please sit down on the couch and just watch cartoons.

This had also backfired, because god kids' cartoons were annoying and loud.

"She just has to keep making the ones that taste like terrible things, and then we won't be tempted," Clint said.

Lexi squealed at something on the television, and Clint winced. "I don't want to be a responsible parent anymore, I changed my mind."

"If we put a blanket over her head maybe she'll think it's night and fall asleep like a bird," Kitty suggested.

Lexi shushed them. This was her show, stop being loud.

"We should have kept the babysitter until the morning. Or the afternoon," Clint said. "I can't believe I just got shushed by my own child. This is going into the 'stories to tell boys' file."

"I appreciate the sass every day but today," Kitty sighed. "So here's our rule: next time we do this, like probably at New Year's, we get a hotel."

You know where 6 am didn't exist? Hotels.

Also this was not happening at New Year's, probably because she'd also have to host that.

[so_hawkward]

"Either that, or only one of us can party, so we're not both out of commission at the same time. We can... I don't know, draw straws or something." That seemed totally fair, and also he wished he'd made that offer to Kitty about eight jello shots earlier in the night.

"Your turn," she said immediately. "Have all you want. Go nuts."

This was perhaps not a fair suggestion today because she didn't want to do this again soon.

"I'm going to hold you to that when you sober up," Clint warned. "I told you you're the responsible one, though maybe you're just the mature one. I swear, hangovers hurt less not all that long ago."

He was really just whining now, sorry Kitty.

"I don't think that says anything, this is probably a lot of people's worst hangover ever."

Worth it? Yes, but not at 6 am.
