25 Unicorn Street- Thursday morning

Kitty was no stranger to waking up suddenly because something was wrong. She'd been in the X-Men a whole year, that sort of thing happened all the time.

She was a total stranger to a two-year-old climbing out of her crib to come into her room and pull the covers off in the effort of trying to climb onto the bed.

So very cold now, Kitty sat up and looked at Lexi, who was now trying to pull the covers off on purpose, and said, "You need boundaries."

Beauty sleep wasn't going to help Clint for a few more years, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try to pull the covers back up so he could go back to sleep. "Five more minutes," he muttered.

Kitty looked over from the mess happening on the floor, to where the voice coming from, and paused.

"Oh, cool, there's a guy in my bed and a kid in my room. This is all a totally normal thing that's happening."

Having a girl in his bed wasn't so bad, but the mention of a kid made him pick his head up. "What the f--oh wow, that is a kid," he said, scrambling to sit up. "Uh, hey."

"Up now!" Lexi demanded, flopping onto the little nest of covers on the floor.

"Do you think she has parents?" Kitty asked.

"I don't know how they teach sex ed where you're from, but the stork isn't real," Clint said. Sighing, he picked the kid up and pulled her close. "There, is that up enough? Someone ought to teach you stranger danger, kiddo."

"Yeah, but shouldn't her parents be here?"

You know, where she was hanging out. With a guy. In a bed.

She totally peeked under the covers to make sure she had everything on, just because she'd seen it done on TV.

"Maybe she's an escape artist? Cribs couldn't contain me either," Clint suggested. He shifted a little to make sure he had everything on too, wincing as Lexi began pulling at his hair. "Hey, that's attached, stop it."

"It is kind of floppy," Kitty told him.

And obviously Lexi knew the hair was wrong.
