Outside 25 Unicorn Street- Thursday morning
Today was gross. It was so gross. And since the power was out, Kitty figured it was a matter of time before she suggested finding a hotel on the mainland, given the kid and the dogs. Sure, it'd look weird fleeing the island in swimsuits, but... There was no end to that. It'd just be weird.
For now, though, she had pulled a kiddie pool out in front of the house and filled it up to let Lexi play for a while. She'd been slathered in sunscreen and had adorable little kiddie sunglasses, and mostly she kept climbing out of the pool to walk around and say "Look!" while showing Kitty random objects she found on the ground.
"The point of this is for you to be in the pool," Kitty told her.
Lexi handed her a leaf.

"If she doesn't appreciate the pool, I'm gonna use it," he said.

Which was fine! Either way!
(Especially since it was way too hot to do anything about it.)

He grabbed Lexi and tried to carry her with him as he sat down in the pool. "I hope you also get cool powers someday." For the moment, she just seemed to be grabbing at the leaf still in his hair.
