Unlike previous years, Kitty wasn't really expecting anything today. She'd had a year to come to grips with the idea that there wouldn't be any more Lexi visits since they had a Lexi now, and it'd been a while since she or Clint has other kids. So she was treating today like any other day, waking up too early because baby, and she was downstairs with her when the doorbell rang.

"Of course I hug," Lexi said, because no one was watching.

She gave Kitty a hug, then went over to Clint for a hug there. "Has it been a while since you saw me?"

She didn't know how this worked now.

"Well, it's been about a year since we've seen you," Clint said, emphasizing the portal-hopping version. "But there's a tinier version of you upstairs. Much tinier."
