Vermont- Tuesday

So hey, there was not a lot of time left, and then who knew when they'd be able to get away again. So Clint and Kitty had decided since everyone was on break anyway, this was the time to go on a relaxing trip. Not too far away. Where they didn't really need to do anything.

They had a balcony with a great view, so Kitty was taking advantage of it by sitting out for a while with her feet up, and she maybe had snuck a cup of coffee with her. Shut up, it was vacation.

Even after all the time Clint had basically been chilling out in Fandom, it was still hard for him to just vacation. He'd turned off most of the notifications on his phone and was ignoring his inbox, but he couldn't resist going out for a run in the morning, since the weather was nice and all.

When he got out of the shower, he went looking for Kitty, and made a playfully offended noise when he found her. "When Lexi starts stealing the coffee cup from your hands, I want you to remember this moment," he said.

Kitty immediately dropped her arm down, phasing it through the chair so he couldn't see the cup. "Hmm? What was that?"

Total innocence here.

"Okay, that's just cheating," Clint said with a laugh, going to sit down next to her. "Smart move, but still cheating."

"It's mostly creamer," she said, pulling her hand up to show him, and it really was pretty damn off-white. "I need it to live."

"I know, I completely understand." Clint put one arm around her shoulders, and slipped his other arm around her middle so his hand was on her belly. "I hope you know I'm only teasing. I know you're doing everything right."

"Well. Sort of," she said, snuggling up against him. "I'm pretty sure I should be ingesting way less sugar, but I blame your genes for that."

"Oh man, I want to make a dirty joke about my genes being all up inside you, but it doesn't feel right," Clint said, giving Kitty's belly a small rub. "I know I'm going to mess up and say bad stuff in front of Lexi, I don't want to do it before she's even here."

"It's not dirty if it's literally how she got here," Kitty pointed out.

[so_hawkward]

"See, this is why I love you - you and I think in so many of the same ways. It's why we're going to be awesome parents."

It was possible Clint thought if he said that enough, it would just be true.

"Or we're going to suck together," she said cheerily.

"As long as Lexi hates us both equally, it's still fair?" Clint offered.

"We can split her future therapy bill," she suggested. "Realistically she's probably ending up in there anyway."

And there was nothing wrong with that!
