25 Unicorn Street- Friday morning

Kitty was pretty obviously not running around in spandex and fighting bad guys for part of her week these days, but she had plenty of people who kept her at least vaguely in the know about what was going on there. And yet no one had told her anything in the entire time that Peter had apparently turned himself in and gone on trial for a mission gone wrong. No one had wanted to stress out over it, and she got that, but it meant that there was a lot for her to unpack after she'd gotten the call from Logan last night.

She hadn't said anything last night, since the last time she'd seen Peter there had been a Phoenix Force-induced attempted murder of her husband and things were Complicated, and she wanted to think things through first. She hadn't slept much, either, which wasn't unusual now, but she'd finally given up and gone downstairs early to get out her laptop and try to research what had happened.

Some people dealt with things in healthy ways, some people obsessed over figuring them out.

"No, they're out of this one," she assured him, and frowned. "There's stuff I'm not sure how you're going to react to."

[so_hawkward]

"Uh oh. Do I need to sit down?" Clint asked, sitting down anyway just to be safe. "I'll be chill, you know me. Also, I'm not fully awake yet, so..."

[throughaphase]

"I don't think it's a sit-down kind of thing," she assured him, regardless. "Peter's over in prison now over what happened there."

So, yeah, not quite sure what Clint's reaction to that would be.

[so_hawkward]

Yeeeeah, Clint opened his mouth, and then closed it, and ended up just not saying anything as he quelled the urge to do a fistpump. "Is... he okay?" he finally asked.

[throughaphase]

"Well, he turned himself in, and he's a brooder who's probably still putting himself through the wringer over the Phoenix stuff. So, probably not."

Which was what drove her crazy about him. He was a good guy who did terrible things and was likely punishing himself, but like, maybe call and apologize?

[so_hawkward]

"I mean, that wasn't his fault entirely." Someone was still a little bitter about getting attacked, sorry Kitty. "He doesn't deserve to be in jail, at least I don't think so. There's got to be something your friends can do. Can they... I don't know, convince someone he was lying?"

[throughaphase]

Kitty shrugged. "Probably not. And it isn't like the system isn't stacked against mutants, anyway. And if he didn't want to be there he wouldn't have turned himself in like a dummy."

She had feelings about this.

[so_hawkward]

"So, is it okay if I also say he's an idiot, or is that just for you?" Clint asked, sighing. "He's also probably trying to do the right thing, and sometimes that means doing something dumb. What can I say, you have a type."

[throughaphase]

"And I love you for that but if you ever do anything like this I would hit you so much," she promised, leaning against him. "Which I also want to do to him, for so many reasons."
