25 Unicorn Street- Monday

Today was just going to be a nervewracking day and Kitty was committing to that. It was the first time ever she’d been wishing for Clint to just leave the house already, and once he was gone she immediately went upstairs and closed herself off in the bathroom.

Then there was time spent sitting on the counter with the timer going on her phone so she knew when there wasn’t a point in watching anymore, fidgeting like crazy as she waited to see if anything was going to happen.

For about a minute. And then she was left with, “Huh.”

"Apparently?"

She was super helpful at the moment! This was why she would have wanted to wait to say anything!

Clint stared at the test for a moment, and then let out a yell and wrapped his arms around Kitty tightly. "Oh my god. Are you--are you okay?" he asked. "I mean, how are you feeling about this?"

"I don't know yet," Kitty said, but she was startled into a laugh, hugging him back. "It hasn't sunk in yet. Looks like you're feeling pretty good about it."

Which... was kind of the best.

"Of course I am. I mean, I know we haven't talked about this a lot, and things always seem to get in the way..." Clint trailed off, taking Kitty's hands and giving them a squeeze. "But I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about this in a hopeful way."

“You were hoping for this?” she asked, smiling a little.

She’d usually been the one to lead the way on things in this relationship, so hearing him say that was just good.

"I mean, eventually, when we both wanted it," Clint admitted, looking a little embarrassed. "It's going to be spring soon, and that means surprise kids running around and... I don't know. I love you, that's what I do know."

That was a full smile on Kitty’s face now, and she leaned in to give him a kiss. “You are the cutest, and I love you like crazy, you know that?”

"I love you too," Clint said again, wrapping his arms tighter around Kitty. "I can't believe this is really happening. You're going to be so good at this, and whatever you need, I'm here for you."

He was not thinking about what kind of a dad he'd make, because he was trying to stay excited, thank you very much.

“You say that now. Wait till I’m actually hormonal.”

Weirdly, she kind of hoped that happened soon, just fit something to point at to mentally say, “look, proof.”

"Oh please, even in your most hormonal state, you won't be the worst person I've ever dealt with. Just think about the Avengers you know," Clint teased. "I'll get you whatever gross food combination you end up craving, I promise."

"You're sweet. And I will try not to be too tough on you, and not just because you're really stuck with me now," she promised, and paused. "Still doesn't feel real."
