25 Unicorn Street- Monday
Today was just going to be a nervewracking day and Kitty was committing to that. It was the first time ever she’d been wishing for Clint to just leave the house already, and once he was gone she immediately went upstairs and closed herself off in the bathroom.
Then there was time spent sitting on the counter with the timer going on her phone so she knew when there wasn’t a point in watching anymore, fidgeting like crazy as she waited to see if anything was going to happen.
For about a minute. And then she was left with, “Huh.”
[NFB and for that guy!]

“It’s me, not a burglar,” he yelled out, peering around for Kitty. “Where’d you go?”

She was super smooth.

It wasn't like she wasn't going to have to tell him, and there was really no way she was going to be able to say this was nothing later today, but she didn't even know her reaction yet.
It was a really long pause.
"You can come in."

And good lord was she going to be watching his reaction.

He'd get a whole sentence out eventually, really!

She was super helpful at the moment! This was why she would have wanted to wait to say anything!

Which... was kind of the best.

She’d usually been the one to lead the way on things in this relationship, so hearing him say that was just good.

He was not thinking about what kind of a dad he'd make, because he was trying to stay excited, thank you very much.

Weirdly, she kind of hoped that happened soon, just fit something to point at to mentally say, “look, proof.”
