Kitty had actually had a pretty good weekend, catching up with friends who'd left and meeting some new people. And sure, getting mistaken for other versions of herself who'd gone here had been a little weird, especially being mistaken for a dead version of herself, but that was Fandom for you.

But it had left her with a lot to think about, so she was spending part of her day on the sofa with a pint of ice cream and what should have been puppy cuddles, but was mostly her telling Lucky that no, he couldn't have chocolate, sorry.

Kitty bust out laughing.

She got herself under control a second later, but she was still trying not to laugh. "Sorry."

"You're not helping," Clint whined said. "I think my students are smarter than me. This isn't going to end well."

"It's fine," Kitty assured him, bumping him with her shoulder. "Now you just know: girls have questions and they possibly have no shame. Remember that and it'll be okay."

"No shame at all," Clint whined said. "How is your day going?"

"Okay," she said. "Ice cream, dogs and quiet. I'm keeping it low-key today."

"It was a busy weekend," Clint said nonchalantly, slipping his arm around Kitty. "Are you okay?"

[throughaphase]

"Yeah," Kitty told him, giving him a little smile that she hoped was reassuring. "I met a guy over the weekend who knew another me. It's just got me a little thoughtful."

"Considering there were three Tonys here this weekend, I'm not surprised someone here knew you," Clint said.

[throughaphase]

"Which has to be amazing, by the way, and you should have gone and taken pictures," she said. Or she should have gone and taken pictures, really. It wasn't like she hadn't know thanks to radio. "I went to work and had one girl think I was someone she went to school with, who I think is the me who got Nothinged when we were in the dungeon, and two people thought I was a dead Kitty come back to life."

The fact that she wasn't more upset about this said a lot about her life.

Clint, on the other hand, blinked a little. "They thought you were what? Why did they think you were dead?" he asked.

"Oh. Um, there was a Kitty here before me who was killed," she admitted, figuring the reaction wouldn't be the happiest.

Yeah, no, Clint didn't like the sound of that at all. "Killed how? I didn't think the island actually--I mean, yeah, we get weird invasions but..."

[throughaphase]

"Vampire. I didn't know how it happened till Sunday, when the guy she died saving thought I was her." Which, technically she was, kind of.

[so_hawkward]

That got a small smile out of Clint. "Of course the other you died saving someone. All Kitties must have that selflessness in them."

[throughaphase]

"I did think the story sounded about right," Kitty said wryly. "He seemed really shaken up. Since he couldn't thank her, he thanked me. Told me about his fiancée and showed me pictures of the kids he gets to have because he's alive."

That still made her want to tear up a little.

"That's... really sweet," Clint admitted. "You should be proud that your other self had such an amazing impact, I guess."

[throughaphase]

"I kind of am," Kitty admitted. "I mean, ideally any me should go when I'm old and have done everything. But if that's not possible, it'd be nice to have it mean something, or help someone."

[so_hawkward]

"I have no doubt it'll mean something when you're old and you've done everything," Clint said. Anything besides old wasn't an option.

"That's my plan. Besides, if I wait till I'm old, then I can help the maximum amount of people possible. Just keep it going," she said lightly.

[so_hawkward]

"See, I like the sound of that. And I can back you up," Clint said helpfully. "Not that you need backup, but you are kind of stuck with me, and I intend for you to be stuck with me for a long time, or until I officially drive you crazy, whichever comes first."

"You driving me crazy is one of the reasons I want to be stuck with you for a long time," Kitty told him. "It's much more interesting."
