The streets of Tokyo- Wednesday night
Kitty was having a rough night so far. She'd been completely unable to get to sleep, so she'd finally gotten back out of bed, figuring she could tire herself out if she did something productive. So she sent an email to Logan to see if he knew anything about this Path of Destiny thing. That took all of about a minute, so she called Yukio, only to get voicemail. Which she should have figured, at this time of night.
Clint and Lockheed were both asleep, and Kitty didn't think it'd do her any good to hang around and be frustrated, so she tried to be quiet as she got dressed and left a note for Clint in case he woke up. Then she headed out to take a little walk and see if she could get any supplies at this time of night.

Kitty | It had been a few years since she'd been back here. She'd been seventeen, and she and the rest of the team had come to visit Rory when he left for a new job. Then she'd had to go and ruin a nice trip by getting temporarily possessed by the spirit of the guy she was trying really hard to stop thinking about today. That had to be why she kept thinking about it, right? Bad memories? That had to be it. It wasn't like Ogun would try and get to her a fourth time. And thanks to all these bad thoughts in her head, Kitty maybe wasn't paying the best attention to where she was going, and she sighed when she saw she'd somehow wandered directly into a dead-end alley. |
Thug | And unfortunately for her, there was a group of four guys who'd been trailing her, and used this as an opportunity to block her path out. Not that they knew she could get through them anyway, but details. "What's the matter, gaijin girlie?" asked the one acting as leader. "This is Shinjuku. Everyone can have a good time here, no matter what you're into." |
Kitty | Because harassment was just the thing Kitty's day needed to make it perfect. "I'm not looking for trouble," she said, answering in Japanese in case that somehow helped. "Please get out of my way." She didn't worry about the situation at all, but she'd like to get out of here without a confrontation if possible. |
Thug | "Don't think that's going to help you, baby," the leader replied. "You know the language, you know the rules." The other three had started to circle closer to her, driving that point home. |
Kitty | Yeah, point gotten, thank you. "I'm warning you," Kitty said, trying to keep an eye on who was where. "Don't touch me or someone's gonna get hurt!" |
Thug | "That someone's you!" the leader said, making a grab at her. ...And being confused when his punch went right through her. |
Kitty | Kitty was able to get a hold on his arm, through, and used his forward momentum to flip him backwards over his shoulder, tossing him into one of his friends. The third guy got an elbow to the shoulder, and by the sound it made she was pretty sure that was going to be a broken nose. The fourth got a kick to the chest he wasn't expecting. It was not the first time Kitty had taken on a group of people all on her own before. At least this time no one would threaten to expel her over it. She wasn't expecting the punch to the back of her neck, which hurt, and ended with her sprawling and knocking over a trash can. It did give her a weapon in the form of a brick that was just laying there, though. Also, in the garbage can lid that she smashed into the face of the one coming after her now, and when the leader tried to hit her, all his hand hit was brick. Looking around and seeing that none of them seemed to be that inclined to fight her anymore, probably because they had slightly more than the 206 bones they'd showed up with now, Kitty started towards the entrance of the alley with a, "Sayonara, sleazebags!" |
Thug | This really hadn't worked out, and they still had a job to do. The leader was probably the only one who still thought they should do it, so with his good hand, he broke a nearby bottle to use as a weapon. "You're not going anywhere!" |
Lockheed | Naturally, that was the cue for a little purple dragon to fly in and make his entrance, and open by breathing fire down into the alley between the thugs and Kitty. The thugs didn't stick around after that, for some reason. |
Kitty | She had the best dragon. As she watched the thugs running away, she held up her arm for Lockheed to perch on for the walk back to the hotel. "My dragon, my hero." |
