A dance studio on the mainland- Friday evening

Kitty was completely aware that her boyfriend was awesome, and that Clint deserved many, many rewards for spending his night at a salsa class with her. She'd had fun, though she didn't know what he was going to think now that it was over.

As they were dismissed and everyone began getting their things to go, Kitty turned to him and said, "That wasn't so bad."

Clint had to admit, it hadn't been so bad. He'd had his hands on Kitty for most of the night, and he hadn't tripped and fallen in front of complete strangers. "It could have been a lot worse, yeah," he said, smiling at her. "You were awesome out there."

"Of course. I'm a natural," she teased. "And now I feel like I can teach it to my class without getting it totally wrong."

"Are you going to make them pair up? That'd be funny," Clint said. "Teenagers are so weird about that sort of thing."

And adults weren't, right.

"Kind of have to. There's only one boy in the class, though, so we'll see if they still get weird about it or not," she said. "I never thought it was weird. 'I get to dance with a boy? Okay.'"

"Well, you're kind of a special person," Clint said. "I'm surprised you even have a single boy in the class. Someone was very smart."

"Going by what I've heard, he's not there for the girls," Kitty said. "Some guys just like it. Mike dances. I mean, that's an entirely different kind of dancing but still."

"Is that something you want to go to classes for?" Clint asked with a smirk. "Apparently it's a really good workout."

"If you ever see me on a pole for any reason, I've been bitten by a gremlin, please send help," she replied.

"Can I take pictures first?" Don't mind how Clint was leaning away from you, Kitty, that totally wasn't on purpose.

"Not that you can ever tell me about," Kitty said.

"I won't share them with anyone, I promise. They'll be my own special memory," Clint promised. "And if you see me on a pole... well, just don't call Natasha."

Kitty went quiet for a minute.

"Sorry. Just picturing it."

Clint waggled his eyebrows at her. "You know I'm bendy enough for it."

Clint, no, that wasn't helpful.

"Oh, I have absolute faith in your bendiness," said Kitty, who was also not helpful. "In my head this is all a private performance, by the way."

"This sounds like a special anniversary present," Clint said. "A very private present."

How did he let himself get talked into things like this?

"Seriously?" Kitty said, and got her phone from her purse. "This is going in my calendar for August."

"Never let it be said I'm not the best boyfriend ever," Clint said. "But seriously, don't tell Natasha or I'll probably be hearing about it in my next lifetime."

"I promise. We'll bribe the squirrels away and everything," Kitty said. "I get you shirtless with ice cream for a birthday, a private show for our anniversary... I'm going to get so spoiled."

She already was spoiled.

"And I'm gonna get... something for this." Shhh, he hadn't decided what that would be yet. "So you spoil me too."

"I try," she admitted. "You haven't decided on your bribe yet?"

"Not quite. Does it have to be something creative?" Clint asked. "I was thinking you, me, and a long night minus clothing."

"It can be whatever you want," Kitty assured him, smiling. "I mean, I'd be crazy to turn that down."

"Oh good. I really am a simple kind of guy," Clint said, leaning in closer to her. "I'm easily amused when it comes to you."

[throughaphase]

"Does that mean I shouldn't work that hard to keep you entertained?" Kitty asked, taking a step closer herself.

[so_hawkward]

"Ooh no, you keep on doing that," Clint said quickly. "I wouldn't dream of telling you how to live your life."

"Okay," she said, like she was filing that away. "So keep up with the spoiling, and keep up with all the reminders that I'm an awesome girlfriend."

"You're an awesome girlfriend," Clint said easily. "Way more awesome than I deserve, that's for sure."

"Nah," she said, sliding her arms around him. "You deserve all of this."
