MHA #10- Sunday evening

With a week off of one job and no real plans, Kitty figured that this would be the time to get some projects done. She planned on doing some little things, like changing out some of the pictures she had around her apartment, and cleaning out the closet that she'd been throwing things into for a year. Or, you know what? How about just some general cleaning. Especially now that Clint had a key, maybe she should actually keep the place presentable in case he showed up.

She'd gotten as far as wiping down her countertops and was now sprawled on her sofa playing Candy Crush. Look, she'd been somewhat productive, that was something.

Clint swore soundly and shook his head. "Yeah, I figured it was bad if he was outright asking for help, but that's really awful," he said. Decent dads were so hard to come by, after all. "Do you know what he wants you to do?"

[throughaphase]

"Not yet. He just said they're kind of stretched peoplewise, because I guess they're dealing with alphas, too?" Kitty said, putting her computer on the table and walking over to him. "I didn't want to push him for details over the phone."

"Alphas?" This was what he got for refusing to talk to Derek, apparently. "On a scale of 1 to 5, how much danger do you think you guys are walking into?"

"Honestly? I have no idea," Kitty admitted. "I only know a little about the darach thing from before, so I'm walking in more or less blind. All I know is, if Stiles needs me, I'm there."

"Of course you are." That was why he was so crazy about her. "And you're going to be careful, right? And make Stiles careful too?"

[throughaphase]

"As much as I can, yeah," she agreed. "If it was my dad, there'd be a limit to how careful I'd be. But I'll do my best. I want everyone home safe."

"Me too," Clint said, giving her a soft kiss. "If you need anything, just let me know. I'll help however I can."

[throughaphase]

"I know," she said with a little smile, wrapping her arms around him in a hug. She really did like that he knew she was heading into something dangerous and didn't tell her not to go or insist he go along. "And I meant what I said in that voicemail. I'll call or text when I can. Don't want you worrying."

This was probably a good lesson in how relationships worked when someone was doing something dangerous. "I'll probably still worry, but I also know you won't do anything that doesn't need to be done."

Aww, you said something good, Clint! Which was probably evident in him getting another kiss for that. "I love you. And I'll be fine. Promise."

"Love you too," Clint said, "and you'd better be. You and Stiles both."

"We will," she nodded. "Want to come down and keep me company while I wait for the portal?"

All she really had to do was unplug her phone charger. She wouldn't be gone long enough to need a change of clothes or anything, right?

"Sure," Clint said, putting his hand on her hip to keep himself close. "I can definitely do that."
