MHA #10- Wednesday evening

Kitty had had plans for date night. She'd planned on setting up dinner on the roof because sunsets and stars were romantic and everything and she was trying here.

And then it'd started raining. Dammit, where was Storm when you needed her?

She still had dinner, so that part was fine, but until Clint showed up she'd be glowering out the window like that'd make the weather behave... and make the roof not wet. (Okay, and she'd send a text because she had to.)

"Aside from that, not much. It's been weird to just have the gym to worry about," Clint said. "I kind of like having multiple things to do with my time, you know?"

"We need to find you more hobbies," she said lightly. "Not having much to do probably doesn't make the anniversary stuff any easier."

"I don't know if stamp collecting would help right now," Clint said with a teasing smirk. "Dinner with a pretty girl does though."

[throughaphase]

"Good. And you know if you need to talk about it, I'll listen," she told him. "And if you don't, then I've got plenty of ways to make things a little better. Starting with dinner on actual plates." See, she put effort in.

"Actual plates? That's way fancier than I'm used to." In Clint's defense, he was at least half teasing. It wasn't that he didn't know how to use plates, they just seemed like a waste sometimes. "Is it okay that I don't want to talk about the Loki thing?"

Kitty shrugged. "It's okay with me as long as it's okay with you," she said. "Telling me there was an issue in the first place is kind of a big thing- and for the record, I'm really glad you said something- and if you want to leave it at that, that's fine by me."

Clint grinned and leaned down to give Kitty a kiss. "You really are awesome, you know. For putting up with me and knowing me talking about things is big. But I guess that's why it's easier with you? I don't know, I don't have a whole lot of nice experience to compare this to."

"I am all for keeping things easier with me," she told him, smiling. "There's stuff I don't like to talk about either, but there are people I know I can talk to- you being one of them- and that means a lot. And you should get to have that, too."

Thinking about what he deserved was an even more potentially terrible topic, so Clint just smiled. "No, I don't mind listening to you at all. I like to think I can help when you need it. Except with cooking, you're probably better on your own there."

"...You realize now I want a night where we stay in and cook," Kitty said. "Because I want to see you try it."

"Unless you want breakfast for dinner, I wouldn't recommend that. I'm great at breakfast." Okay, he was pretty good at breakfast. "But dinner's a different story."

[throughaphase]

"It's okay, I want to see this. We'll just dial all the numbers for the pizza place and hit talk when we see what we end up with," Kitty said.

Clint laughed. "I can't tell if you're very crazy or very brave."

[throughaphase]

"Usually a little of both, but in this situation I'd only be those things if I thought we'd end up actually eating it," Kitty said. "You're talking to a girl who got Thai for tonight and put it on plates so it's not technically takeout anymore."

It was still totally takeout, Kitty.

"Does that mean I can bring Chinese or something when we cook and warm it up?" Clint asked. Hey, if loopholes were an option, he was going to take one.

"Yep. It's really the only way," she agreed. "Do you think I'm insane now?"

"No, I think you're very smart," Clint said, going in for another kiss. He'd let her get to the dinner part of their evening eventually, really.

Yeah, she was catching on to that. "Are you trying to make this end in leftovers before we even eat?" she asked, clearly having a huge problem with that.

"No, not at all," Clint said between kisses. "Thai food is good and food gives you energy."

[throughaphase]

"Oh? What might we need energy for?" she asked, totally innocently really.

[so_hawkward]

"Dessert?" Clint suggested.

[throughaphase]

"And if I didn't think that far?" Kitty asked.

[so_hawkward]

"I can take care of it," Clint offered, nuzzling at her neck a little. "It only seems fair."

"Have I mentioned lately you're the best?" Kitty asked, smiling.

[so_hawkward]

"Not in the last few minutes," Clint said. "You should feel free to say it again."

[throughaphase]

"You're the best," she replied. "Heard it enough yet?"

"For now," Clint said with another kiss. "Come on, let's eat this amazing dinner you've prepared."
